Here are some strategies from the book that can help you stay positive and connected even while social distancing.

1. Write thank you texts and emails

If we Express your gratitudeWe strengthen our social connections and find more meaning and satisfaction in life. And luckily, gratitude is just as easy to share via text and email as it is in real life.

The easiest way to express your gratitude is to write short thank you messages to people you know. It could be something they did for you, or it could be something about them.

2. Join a mission-focused group online

When we do things for others, we can do them Increase our happiness. And fortunately, we can now do this online – for example, by helping a political candidate, addressing an important social issue, raising money for an important cause, or starting a purpose-driven business. Joining one of these mission-driven groups can be a great way to make an impact, even if you’re stuck at home.

3. Enjoy positive moments while surfing online

There are so many positive moments that we can miss while surfing the Internet. If we stop for a moment enjoy and appreciate We can make these moments last longer. So, when surfing the internet, always pay attention when you experience something positive.

Maybe your friend shares a video that makes you laugh. Or maybe you read an article that taught you something useful. So take a moment to enjoy it.

4. Actively participate in your social media community

People who use Facebook more actively (e.g., liking, commenting, and posting) tend to be less depressed. People who use Facebook more passively (such as scrolling without interacting with others) tend to experience more symptoms of depression.

Some ways of communicating with others online can benefit us, perhaps because they involve social connection rather than social comparison. By reaching out to others, engaging in meaningful social interactions, and strengthening social connections, we will likely achieve this. Improve your well-being with technological tools.

If you see something you like online, take a moment and leave a kind message for the person who created or shared it. Say something sincere and something from your heart. Trust me, the other person will really appreciate it and you will go home with a little burst of joy.
