Why start an AI podcast?
Traditional podcasting takes time: writing, recording, editing, mixing, adapting and distributing episodes can easily overwhelm a new creator. I started my own podcast I burned out at the start of the year and within a few months I was just exhausted – it was just too much. Coordination with guests, preparation by reading their books, then editing and advertising. It didn’t take long before I realized I was stopping.
Introverts Can Also Create Podcasts
AI tools remove many of these barriers by allowing you Automatically generate scripts, voices and even entire episodes without ever having to go in front of a camera. This means you can focus more on your content, branding and marketing – and let technology do the heavy lifting.
Podcasts also on the theme of AI scalable. Once you master the workflow, you can create multiple episodes in less time, explore multiple niches, or even convert existing content into audio form. That’s what I do. I’m creating a new brand and website and simply turning each new article on that website into a podcast episode.
Here’s a video that shows you step by step how to create an AI podcast
Step 1: Prepare your content
- Write your own articles or scripts – If you already create blogs, guides, or educational content, you can easily convert them into podcast episodes.
- To use PLR (Private Label Rights) content. – PLR content is pre-written material that you can legally edit, rename and publish. For example, with the high-quality content included in our All Access Pass, you can create an AI podcast episode in minutes. This can save you time and give you a solid foundation to work from.
Whichever option you choose, make sure the material is high quality, relevant to your audience, and easy to convert into spoken word. AI tools like Notebook LM work best when equipped with it well-structured and informative content.
Step 2: Generate your podcast script in Google Notebook LM
How to use it:
- Upload the content you have chosen (your article, blog, etc.). DPP material) in the LM notebook.
- Click the “Audio Summary” button.
- Download your podcast episode when you’re done.
In the following video I explain exactly how to do this:
Step 3: Combine PLR Content to Create Something New
For example, you could take:
By including multiple items as sources in Google Notebook LM, they are seamlessly linked together and something new is created. Then create a brand new podcast episode (or explainer video) that feels original and provides unique value to listeners.
Below is an example podcast you can create with our DPP content:
Step 4: Tag your podcast with Canva
Canva is my favorite tool for this, and although I now have the paid version, you can do it all for free.
Here’s what you need to focus on:
- Podcast Cover: Create an eye-catching image that includes the title and visual style of your show. This will appear in directories like Spotify or Apple Podcasts if you later expand your distribution.
- AI Hosts: You can even create images of an AI podcast host to have a consistent host (even if that host is just an AI).
- Your logo: I like to include the link to my website directly on the screen of all my videos and podcasts. This way, someone who wants to learn more knows exactly where to go.
You can also create one using Canva Set of brandsKeep your fonts, colors, and logos consistent across episodes and platforms.
Google Gemini lets you create images from AI podcast hosts. The image below shows an example:
Step 5: Upload your podcast to multiple platforms
Here are some of the best places to upload your podcast:
- YouTube – Many people publish podcasts directly to YouTube. Combine your tone with branded visuals or simple background images.
- Spotify (via Spotify for Podcasters) – One of the most popular platforms for podcast listeners worldwide. Easy to use and allows analysis tracking.
- Apple Podcasts – The original podcast hub and still a leading platform. Posting your show here increases credibility and reach.
- Amazon Music and Audible – Millions of people stream podcasts here and distribution is easy through many hosting providers.
- iHeartRadio and TuneIn – Both are frequently used by radio listeners who enjoy podcasts in addition to traditional broadcasts.
- Pocket stitching and molding – Popular with dedicated podcast listeners looking for niche shows.
The easiest way to publish to multiple platforms is to use a Podcast hosting service like Buzzsprout, Podbean or Anchor (Spotify for podcasters). These platforms create a RSS feed for your podcast, which can automatically transfer your episodes to dozens of podcast directories at the same time. (Note: I’ve never used them, so I can’t confirm if they are good or not).
Step 6: Convert Content to Short Films
How to make them:
- Remove one powerful quote, preview or teaser your episode.
- Use Canva or another video editor to add text overlays, captions, and engaging visuals.
- Download the clip as a YouTube short film with a catchy title.
Short films can significantly increase your channel growth and attract more listeners to your full-length podcast episodes. You can also repurpose these clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook, giving your podcast extra reach.
Step 7: Grow Your Podcast Audience
- consistency: Release episodes regularly so listeners know when to expect new content.
- Cross promotion: Share your episodes on social media, email newsletters, and text articles (like this one).
- engagement: Ask questions, encourage comments, and invite listeners to provide feedback.
- SEO Optimization: Use your keywords in titles, descriptions and tags to make your content more visible.
Remember, podcast growth takes time. But AI gives you a big advantage because it allows you to produce higher quality content faster.
The future of AI podcasts
AI podcasts not only save time, but also open up creative possibilities that traditional methods could not offer. Imagine creating entire seasons of episodes, customizing the voices of different characters, or even creating interactive listening experiences, all using AI.
For entrepreneurs, educators and creatives, this is an opportunity to get started early and be part of a growing trend.
