Practice makes perfect, even when it comes to luck

Very often we think that happiness is something that happens to us. But happiness is more of a skill (or set of skills). When we practice these skills, we can more easily become satisfied with ourselves.

“Have you found happiness?” Every time I hear this question, I wonder why happiness is treated like a lost set of car keys. When we talk about “finding” happiness, it means that we think happiness is something we should strive for. The truth is that we must build happiness.

It turns out that happiness comes from developing certain skills like positivity, resilience and mindfulness. Developing these skills will make you happier. And if you practice them enough, they become automatic.

What do I mean by “automatically”? Now think about the time when you first learned to ride a bike. It was really hard at first, wasn’t it? But when you ride a bike now, you just do it… automatically… without much effort. With luck, it can happen…if you practice the right skills. It is no longer necessary to work to “find” happiness. It will simply exist.

Remember: you don’t find happiness, you create it

How to make happiness automatic?

Well, it’s really quite simple. You know, the thing about the brain is that it has a lot to do and it works very hard. When you do a lot, your brain makes work easier by creating shortcuts to save time and energy. So when you practice happiness, you’re essentially telling your brain, “Hey, brain, I plan to feel this way often.” » Automate it!

So you’ve just trained your brain to automatically respond with happiness, joy and positivity! Cool, right?

Now for the hard part. How to practice, practice, practice the right skills? To start, here is 101 things you can do to be happier.
