What is a reassessment – ​​and how to go about it?

What is a reassessment?

Reappraisal involves cognitively reframing an event to reduce it negative emotions You feel. For example, let’s say I dropped my sandwich on the floor and have nothing else to eat for lunch. I could tell myself that I am better off than the people of the world who don’t have food. Or I tell myself it’s not that bad because I can have a snack later in the day. Or maybe I think it’s a good thing I skipped my sandwich because it helps me stick to my diet.

The goal is to address you in the way that suits you feel better or the situation.

How to practice positive reappraisal

  • What have you learned?
  • How did you grow and evolve in this situation?
