There will be many times in life when you experience difficult situations and strong emotions. In such situations, it may be helpful to use benefit evaluation to examine the benefits of situations that initially seemed negative. Here’s how to do it:
Activity: Discover the benefits
Please briefly reflect on this negative event for about 30 seconds.
Then spend the next 10 minutes writing about the positive things that came from this experience.
REMEMBER:
You could be greatly rewarded after a negative situation.
Perhaps you are grateful to have had this experience.
Or maybe your situation is better than when you started.
Try to really explore your mind to discover the benefits of the negative situation.
