1. Enjoy the past.

Savoring the past is perhaps the simplest way to practice savoring. To do this, just think for a few minutes about a happy, joyful or pleasant event that happened to you during the last week or month. For example, you might think about “spending time with friends or finishing an important project.”

As you think back on this pleasant event, think about the people, smells, sounds, physical sensations, and sights you experienced. Think about the positive emotions you felt at the time of the event and try to recreate them. While you’re enjoying it, you can let your mind wander to something else about the happy experience that makes you feel good. Then only mentally Hold on to what makes you feel good.

Breathe deeplyAnd Pay attention how these emotions feel in your body. Let the emotions fade on their own until you are ready to return to what you were doing.

To enjoy the past, you can also look through old photos until you find one that reminds you of a positive event that you have long forgotten. Take a moment and think deeply about this event. To do this, pay attention every time you experience something positive. When you notice that you feel good, record it in your mind by thinking about the positive emotions and their cause.

For example, there are an almost infinite number of positive moments that we miss when we are on the Internet. But if we stop for a moment to enjoy and appreciate these moments, we can make them last longer. So be mindful when you experience something positive while surfing the Internet. Maybe your friend shares a video that inspires you. Maybe a colleague posts a joke that makes you laugh. Or maybe watch a video that teaches you something interesting. If you find that your social media is dominated by negative content, there are plenty of videos of cats or stunning landscapes available to you. Just go to YouTube to find one. Maybe you want that too Include Gratitude From Remember it’s you grateful for this moment, or whatever the cause of this moment.

3. Use the present tense.

To enjoy your positive emotions even longer, you can do what is called “capitalizing on positive events.” Take advantage of the moment you feel good by showing it, telling it, or sharing it with others immediately. Remember that the positive thing that happens doesn’t have to be special. You could have just woken up on the right side of the bed and thought, “Hey, I feel good today,” and then shared that with someone else.

“Show it” by expressing positive emotions in your facial expressions and body language. For example, you might smile, laugh, or raise your hands in the air. These expressions of chance can help prolong positive feelings.

“Say it” by talking to someone about why you are happy. You can call or text a friend to talk to the people around you about your feelings. Others tend to respond positively to the expression of positive emotions, which can bring out even more positive emotions in you.

Just be careful not to post things that might make others feel worse (like getting something someone else wanted).
